Step by step on how to get into vanlife on the dirt cheap. 1. Sell everything you don't use. 2. Buy a cheap $1-2k van just to use in your town as u save. 3. Save $ by living in said van for a year or two by not spending $ on rent & utilities. 4. Buy a 20k brand new van with the $ that u saved not paying rent while staying in your same town, working your same job. 5. Quit your job once u have at...

Revised rules to follow if you find yourself living homeless, on the streets!
Просмотров 18810 месяцев назад
1. Have/carry some type of protection & be prepared to use it. 2. Out of sight is out of mind. People can't harm you if they can not find you. 3. Find the high ground/take the path of most resistance. Humans tend to follow the path of least resistance, so if it's hard for you to get to your spot, it's gonna be just as hard for the next guy and using barriers can make noises that help alert you ...

Back to transporting for Worldwide Drive Away!
Christ i thought you passed on. You've been missing forever
Is worldwide a good driveway company
I left you two links. You can delete them but at least check. That way we know our rights as tribal people or even the non
Love these cars😊😊😊
What company do you work for?
@@dmariologan6215 I'm just now starting back on with Quality Drive Away. This video was Worldwide Driveaway
Only in america
NT go for norton transport - do you know beter app for work?
@@VASYL198 not sure what u mean? All the companies have their load board apps or make u call in to ask dispatch
Great film sir Grant
This a p1000?
@@damienclark4175 I'm not sure if the exact model
I still found this pretty terrifying. I was never a fan of the idea to begin with, and seeing how close it got to that family at the end should be concerning. I hope this helps the consumers rather than the automakers.
@@DeathToarmosUndjudens I tend to agree with u. Just like I'm not a huge fan of all EV, I'd prefer hybrids (for the best of both worlds) this is the same thing here. I would prefer to at least be in the driver's seat, or have more than an emergency stop (electronic) button as my only go to, to stop what I might see happening. Right now Waymo does have what is basically a kill switch but then u have to pay $250 fine if it's found out that there wasn't a legitimate reason to stop.
What happens if you get a phone call from someone and you have to change your destination?
U can try to add another address in the app or on that car screen. If the car is available it'll adjust the charge and change it
I was wondering what you were up to. Glad you got back to some stability. Make some doordash content like you said!
How do you remember all this? I'm bound to fail
@@earthpart3 u memorize it but if u are going for just Class C CDL or chauffeurs license, just make sure u rent a uhual that does not have a bunch of covers over the engine so that u can see what u need to talk about. Ask uhual to show u the engines. Just think mainly "belts, tires, hoses" anything that moves or can develop a leak u need to point out . Good luck
I think PTI gets by with way too much
you said they pay you to be on call? I drive PTI in the south we don’t get paid to be on call that part is free. We only get paid when we are dispatched it starts when we show up for our need time. Then it ends when the trip is complete
@@screamingeagle-rt1kj it used to be that way here too but 17 people sued pti & won so pti reached an agreement with BNSF to supply drivers on call in exchange for what they call "garranteed pay" which is different then company hrs here now. But this contract isn't available in every pti area or branch. Like Glendive, Miles City, & Forsyth MT get it. But Laurel MT drivers do not.
@@screamingeagle-rt1kj the 4 shifts here are 4am-4pm, 4pm-4am, 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am. Each branch here has 3 drivers on each shift. Depending on when they started, they all get between $120-150 per shift to be available & answer calls the first 10 hrs of their 12 hr shift. The key is, u miss the call, decline the trip etc, u loose that nights garranteed pay. It's an incentive in this area to make sure BNSF has dependable drivers available
Let me share my 2+ years experience. I work for a crew transport company in Montana at a guaranteed pay branch. If you don't get a trip, you still get paid. Otherwise you get paid by the hour. We get paid the higher amount, hrs worked vs guarantee. Wages range $17-20 hr and a extra $3 hr if your work nights/weekends. Some days there are no trips, but you can have weeks of working 60+ hrs. Not allowed to work more that 70 hrs in an 8 day period. Its definitely not a job for people with kids or family to take care of. There is no real set schedule. It is an easy job once you learn all of the 100+ locations in a 500+ mile radius. Although waiting for a trip can suck. Get a trip in your 9th hour of shift and be expected to drive up to 10hrs, but work up to 15hr at a time. Get 8 hrs off, and do it all over again. Energy drinks and nicotine are a staple. You can sleep in the vehicles when time allows, but you will be crippled when you wake up. Expect to drive in any type of road conditions. Black ice, blizzards, drifting, and -40F. Our dispatchers are worthless, and cause more problems than help. Many of them are poorly trained, do not communicate within their dept, and lie. You have to be able to work independently, and make smart distance/time based decisions. Sitting 6 ft from a track as a train goes by at 60mph can be the most exhilarating/scary experience. If you break down or get a flat tire (you are not allowed to change tires yourself), expect to wait up to 4+ hrs for a tow truck to arrive, and you can't leave the vehicle unattended. Make sure you pack a bag with a change of clothes, cell charger, entertainment, toiletries, and food. It can be like camping, expect to take a dump on the side of the gavel road in the middle of nowhere. I have been in some creepy situations in the sticks. Keep in mind you can't carry any self defense weapons. Hitting the gas is your only defense. ...that's the basics of the job.
i think we are related lindA Grant from Chicago currently SF if you make it to CAL look me up
Grant you ever get rides from cops when you're out hitch hiking?

Take care of that sun burn.. Are you getting your gear back from your moms anytime soon or what's the plan?
Airplane312 was just saying about the sun burn. This is what happens when you walk 4 miles a day with no sun protection.
yoo the boys are back! Sorry the plans fell through grant. Better make some banger vids together. I haven't seen much from airplane recently.
Thanks so much for your kind words. Airplane312 is kinda busy with other stuff. Air will soon get video up on his channel soon as he can.

Damn homea
LOL Grant, there is a ole saying " You don't got a pot to pis* in . You can now say that.
Actually I carry a Gatorade piss jug for hotel stairwells. That way I don't have to reveal myself by using the public restroom in the middle of the night and I'm not a fan of pissing on their walls. So technically, I have a pot to piss in 😆
Hi Grant, sending hugs, from Oxfordshire England, I hope you get your room and a great job
Show off yellowstone life if you can. I'm curious what it's like.
Hope the transition goes smooth for you.
I thought you were getting your life together and here we go again. Oh great tip to use a bottle to get free water. I would have never thought of that.
@Aaron-cz5tz I tried but I'd save up a little $ and then something would come up. I'm going to a job that supplies housing and meals and I'll still make about $100 a day that I'll have no reason to spend. But idk if you were being sarcastic here or not?
@@Aaron-cz5tz in Chadron, I would make $20-40 per 4 hr shift. It just wasn't paying enough
